ISSA Canada and Cleaning for a Reason Join Forces
to Serve Five Cancer Patients in Toronto
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA – APRIL 3, 2026—Cleaning for a Reason, a non-profit and ISSA Charity, will host a Volunteer Day in Toronto on Wednesday, April 8. Five ISSA Canada member companies – including Bunzl Canada and Dustbane Products Ltd. – will come together to provide free home cleanings for cancer patients in need of support and relief.
This Volunteer Day is part of Cleaning for a Reason month, marking the organization's 20th anniversary and celebrating two decades of helping cancer patients live in a clean, healthy home.
The Volunteer Day sponsors and volunteers are as follows:
- Platinum ($2,500) – Bunzl Canada and Dustbane Products Ltd.
- Gold ($1,500) – GOJO
- Silver ($1,000) – HD Supply
- Bronze ($500) – Hallmark Housekeeping
Five volunteer teams will be led by five local crew chiefs from residential cleaning companies partnered with Cleaning for a Reason – JEM Cleaning and MoppedUp Cleaning.
"For families facing cancer, a clean, healthy home is more than tidiness – it's a sanctuary during a difficult time," said Allison Saba, Director of ISSA Charities. "These volunteer cleanings bring hope, comfort, and a sense of dignity, serving as a visible reminder that the community stands with them. We are so grateful to ISSA Canada members and our residential cleaning partners for making this meaningful day of service possible."
While this Volunteer Day will bring comfort to several families, many more across Canada and the United States are still waiting – facing treatment, fatigue, and uncertainty without the support of a clean home. Cleaning for a Reason partners with over 1,400 cleaning companies, including 50 in Canada, yet the need continues to grow as more patients reach out for help.
With the support of donors and partners, the non-profit connects cleaning companies with cancer patients, builds relationships with cancer centres and patient navigators, and raises awareness so that no patient has to face treatment alone in an unclean environment.
