Sold-Out ISSA Hygieia Conference Unites Industry Leaders for a Day of Inspiration,

Connection, and Community Impact

Thursday, April 9 l Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport & Conference Centre, Toronto, ON

The ISSA Hygieia Networking and Leadership Conference, held on Thursday, April 9 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport and Conference Centre, brought together nearly 90 industry professionals for a sold-out day of connection, inspiration, and meaningful dialogue. The strong turn-out underscored the continued momentum of the ISSA Hygieia Network and its commitment to advancing leadership, inclusion, and professional development within the cleaning and facility services industry.

The conference opened with a powerful keynote address by Tanya Geisler, whose insights on imposter syndrome, confidence, and personal leadership resonated deeply with attendees. Her engaging and relatable style set the tone for the day, encouraging participants to reflect on their own leadership journeys and embrace their unique strengths. The keynote and following workshop sparked thoughtful conversations that carried throughout the event, reinforcing the importance of authenticity and self-awareness in leadership roles.

Following a delicious networking lunch, attendees participated in an engaging “Be Inspired” panel discussion focused on personal finance, succession planning, and career development. Moderated by Shannon Hall, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Dustbane Products Ltd., the panel featured Gina Dyrmishi (Bunzl Canada) and Hayley Clift (Yorkville Asset Management).

Panelists shared their experiences, challenges, and successes, offering candid insights on navigating career growth, overcoming barriers, and fostering inclusive workplaces. The discussion struck a balance between inspiration and practicality, equipping attendees with actionable takeaways and a renewed sense of possibility.

In addition to the keynote and panel, the conference featured interactive roundtable discussions that allowed participants to engage more deeply with key topics. These smaller group sessions created space for open dialogue, idea-sharing, and peer learning. Attendees appreciated the opportunity to connect directly with one another, exchange insights, and build relationships in a collaborative setting.

Beyond professional development, the event also underscored a strong commitment to community impact. In addition to the conference’s educational programming, the ISSA Hygieia Network annually supports a local charity through various forms of donation. In response to the growing issue of food insecurity, this year’s conference directed its efforts toward the Daily Bread Food Bank, encouraging attendees to contribute to a meaningful local cause.

The response was remarkable, with a total of 218 pounds of food collected, along with $235 in cash donations. This initiative reflected the network’s broader commitment to giving back and supporting communities in need.

Throughout the day, there was a palpable sense of energy and engagement. From networking conversations to structured sessions, attendees were actively involved and invested in the experience. The sold-out nature of the event highlighted the growing demand for spaces where professionals can come together to learn, connect, and support one another.

The success of this year’s conference reinforces the value of the ISSA Hygieia Network’s mission and the importance of continued investment in leadership development and inclusivity. As attendees left with new insights, connections, and inspiration, the impact of the day extended well beyond the conference room.

Overall, the ISSA Hygieia Networking and Leadership Conference delivered a meaningful and memorable experience, combining thought leadership, community engagement, and authentic connection. It stands as a testament to the strength of the network and its role in shaping the future of the industry.
